Market Technicians Association London Chapter Meeting

Date:
Thursday, September 12, 2013 - 18:00 - 21:00
Location:
Cass Business School, City University London, 105 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8TZ

TOPIC: Quantified Trading Strategies Summit

SPEAKER: Nelson Freeburg

Nelson Freeburg is the editor of Formula Research, a financial newsletter that develops systematic investment strategies for the stock, bond and commodity markets. Nelson started out in the improbable field of strategic arms control, working on a Ph.D. at Columbia University. In time he switched to the study of finance, undertaking extensive research into mechanical timing models. Twenty years ago Nelson began sharing his findings with a small nucleus of traders and investors. Today Formula Research serves individual and institutional clients in 30 countries, including some of the leading names in global trading and finance.

"Systematic Market Analysis: Expanding Opportunities and Managing Risk"

Nelson will share six of his most effective systematic investment models for stocks and bonds. Each strategy is appealingly simple and strictly objective, thus mitigating the risk of guesswork and emotion. The six formulas have track records going back decades and continue to perform well in real-time application. You will see how each featured trading method has surpassed its market benchmark by every meaningful measure of risk and return. We close by combining the five individual strategies into a composite that offers higher returns and lower risk than any single component, thereby forming a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

SPEAKER: Linda Raschke

Linda Raschke has been a full time professional trader for 33 years. She was recognized in Jack Schwager's "The New Market Wizards", and her hedge fund was ranked 17th out of 4500 for best 5 year performance by BarclayHedge. Linda has presented her research and lectured on trading for the Managed Futures Association, IFTA, Bloomberg, MTA, and has been president of the American Association of Technical Analysts as well as serving on the board of Directors for the Market Technicians Association for many years.

Ms Raschke is president of LBRGroup, CTA and LBR Asset Management and loves charts, horses and music...not necessarily in that order.

"Three time tested systems that are durable and robust - pros and cons!"
