Traders & Investors Club Meeting - 15th December 2009
Trading With The Big Dogs
As you know, we regularly look to the Futures Market in order to get a heads-up on the most likely direction of the asset classes that we like to trade. So, what is it that determines the future direction of the market?
The Big Money, that's what.
Therefore, wouldn't it be helpful to us as traders if we knew on which side of the market the major players were positioned? In fact, this information is freely available to us.....if we know where to look.
The Futures Market is the most transparent market in the world and every week, in the interest of maintaining a level playing field, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission publishes the Commitment Of Traders (COT) Report. This report details the actual positions of, not only the major commercial interests, but also those of the other market participants including the large speculators. By examining the relationship between these groups of traders, and determining their motives for taking their relative positions in the market, we can provide ourselves with the opportunity to trade alongside the Big Dogs.
This evening, Kevin Barry of the Traders & Investors Club will be discussing the COT Report and illustrating how we can integrate it with our trader's toolbox.
Are Futures in Your Future?
It’s a jungle out there! Wouldn't it be great to have an edge?
Private Traders frequently shy away from trading the futures market. However, this is where the smart money trades, so why not give it a shot? Most on-line brokerage services allow trading in futures contracts, especially currencies and commodities. These markets are insanely liquid, offer cheap execution costs, are capital efficient and trade 24 hours a day.
Bob Bleczinski of the Traders & Investors Club is a full-time FX futures trader who will be presenting us with an overview of the futures market and illustrating why the Smart Money finds it to be so attractive.
Give yourself the edge!
Our Month In The Market
The Traders & Investors Club is an indispensable element in the development of both new and experienced traders. One of the major benefits of membership of the Traders & Investors Club is the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals. Every evening, members talk about their successful, and not so successful, trades as well as describing their individual trading strategies and methods.
Following on from our recent discussion of binary options, Andy Simensen of the Traders & Investors Club will be sharing with us his strategy for trading the major economic news with these instruments. Jeff Boccaccio, also of the Traders & Investors Club, will be updating us with his adventures as a full-time trader.
Have you discovered a strategy that works for you or would you like to learn how other traders have become successful? Bring your trades along and perhaps get a different perspective on how to best manage them.
Market Roundup And Open Forum
Last week, the US dollar reversed its long-term downward trend. Is this the long-awaited dollar recovery or another short-term blip? What the dollar does from here will have a major effect of our assets and future wealth.
In order to be a successful trader in the modern world, you must be aware of how the US dollar or an after dinner speech by Ben Bernanke will affect your stock, commodity and property portfolios. Kevin Barry of the Traders & Investors Club and Simon Dixon of Benedix will present a summary of the recent global market action and throw the floor open to the audience for their take on the current trading environment.
'Tis The Season To Be Jolly
