Traders & Investors Club Meeting - 18th May 2010
There Is Nothing New Under The Sun
'What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again'. Ecclesiastes 12.
Since biblical times, mankind has been aware that everything in the Universe is cyclical, from the movements of the planets to human behaviour in the marketplace. This evening, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Costas Vayonis, who will be sharing with us his work on symmetry and harmony in the market.
Costas has been a full-time trader for ten years and has studied with Larry Pesavento, one of the great market visionaries of the last 50 years. Since 2006, his focus has been on the use of technical analysis in his trading, with particular emphasis on pattern-recognition techniques.
Some of the topics that Costas will be introducing us to include:
Is the market really just a random walk or is there an underlying order?
How we can identify the repetitive market swings with or without charting software
Using specific geometrical patterns such as the AB=CD, the Gartley and the Butterfly to provide us with profitable trade setups
Fibonacci numbers and ratios - the elementary structure that ties it all together
Costas has devoted many years to the study of human psychology in the market. He recognises that the most important component of the trading equation is the human element. Inseparable from the trading techniques that Costas will be demonstrating is the trader's mindset. Therefore, Costas will also be discussing:
How to think in terms of probabilities
Starting the process of learning how to think differently
Time and how we use it as traders - quality is more important than quantity
Confidence - now you have it, now you don't
The steps that we must take in order to develop and maintain greater confidence as traders
You can't afford to miss this special presentation. It could change the way that you see the market forever.
Our Month In The Market:
What have we been trading since last we met?
One of the major benefits of membership of the Traders & Investors Club is the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals. Every evening, members talk about their successful, and not so successful, trades as well as describing their individual trading strategies and methods.
I do hope that you will be able to join us on the in order to continue building the Traders & Investors Club into a unique forum where traders help each other to become better traders.
Market Roundup And Open Forum
In order to be a successful trader in the modern world, you must be aware of how a rise in the cost of borrowing for the Greek Government or the small matter of a General Election will affect your stock, commodity and property portfolios. Kevin Barry of the Traders & Investors Club will be presenting our regular summary of the recent global market action and throwing the floor open to the audience for their take on the current trading environment.
