Traders & Investors Club Meeting - 22nd January 2008
Trading In Multiple Timeframes
Is the trend up or down? In fact, the trend can be going in both directions at the same time; it all depends upon your timeframe. Is that a head-and-shoulders top or is it a continuation pattern in the major trend? Not knowing which can make the difference between a winning trade and a loser.
When we restrict our technical analysis to one timeframe, we run the risk of not being able to see the wood for the trees. The market has been likened to the sea, formed out of ever-shifting tides, waves and ripples. In order to trade successfully, we must be sure of surfing the right waves.
Kevin Barry of the Traders & Investors Club will be discussing a simple technique which will keep you on the right side of the market. Don't forget; when you're crossing the road, look both ways!
Interest Rates And Your Trading Profits
With the Government looking for any way to stimulate the economy, a series of interest rate cuts is expected this year. Will this be a good thing or a bad thing for you and your trading profits?
Simon Dixon of Benedix Investments will be discussing how this policy is likely to impact the market as a whole and looking at some of the best places in which to invest your money.
Market Roundup And Open Forum
In order to be a successful trader in the modern world, you must be aware of how the price of wheat or an after dinner speech by Ben Bernanke will affect your stock and property portfolios. Kevin Barry of the Traders & Investors Club will present a brief summary of the recent global market action and throw the floor open to the audience for their take on the current trading environment.
Our Month In The Market
Members are encouraged to share their successful, or just as importantly, not so successful, trades with the Club. Have you discovered a strategy that works for you or would you like to learn how other traders have become successful? Bring your trades along and perhaps get a different perspective on how to best manage them.
