Market Roundup - 17th May 2011
It looks as though a lot of market participants have been taking note of the old adage - Sell In May And Go Away.
The silver bubble has well and truly popped for the time being at least and, although gold is not quite as bubblicious, the shine of 'the only real currency' has also been dulled somewhat by the recent market action.
Our old friend the US Dollar is still in the doldrums but with everybody now having sold, could it be time for the phoenix to rise from the ashes? Would a dollar revival bring with it a commodity price correction? Perhaps the time is right anyway. And with QE2 coming to an end, are we also at a crossroads for the US stock market and, by implication, the global economy in general?
Is QE3 be the only way forward for the Fed with the associated ramifications for........well, everything?
